Services
The Kennedy Institute is an outpatient physical therapy clinic and does not offer in-patient rehabilitation.
The Kennedy Institute has multiple devices that offer body weight support, robotic assisted gait training, and functional electrical stimulation. Please view our patients page and our equipment page for more information.
Neurological, orthopedic, and chronic conditions can all benefit from the Kennedy Institute equipment and the clinicians with specialized training. A list of conditions and equipment suggestions for each diagnosis can be found on the patient page.
The Kennedy Institute has multiple devices that support a patient's body weight during standing, transfers, walking, and functional activities. The machines can take the place of additional therapists needed to support someone's body weight during therapy. This allows safer rehabilitation, more time spent performing exercise, and more challenging exercises to be performed. Check out our equipment list for more information on the types of devices available. (link to equipment page)
Functional electrical stimulation or FES is electric current applied directly to muscle groups to improve muscle firing during certain tasks. The Kennedy Institute has 4 devices that apply electrical stimulation for activities such as cycling, walking, and movements performed on a daily basis such as reaching, writing, and grooming tasks. Check out our equipment list for more information of the types of FES devices available (link to equipment page)
Yes! The Kennedy Institute has devices with pediatric sizing and settings to accommodate as many shapes and sizes as possible. The equipment is also ideal for geriatric patients as it emphasizes safety and customization of the therapy experience.
The Kennedy Institute has self-pay rates and is working diligently to raise funding for a 鈥淢obility Fund鈥 to subsidize treatment for those with financial hardships.
