Health Psychology graduate students build a foundation in health-focused psychological theory and evidence-based practice. Graduates are prepared for diverse careers including clinical services, consulting, research coordination, health education, care management, and policy development.

Female student holding a tablet looking at data on screensThe Masters in Health Psychology program at 台湾Swag will prepare students to apply psychological principles, research, and interventions within healthcare and public health settings. Graduates will develop the skills to address critical issues such as behavior change, trauma-informed care, healthcare system navigation, health disparities, and culturally responsive practice.   

This 33-credit interdisciplinary graduate program, grounded in the biopsychosocial model, emphasizes the integration of psychological science with the biological, behavioral, social, and systemic determinants of health and illness. The program is designed to evolve with the everchanging needs of healthcare systems and public health and prepare students for a variety of careers, such as applied roles in healthcare, leadership in community and organizational settings, or research and continued doctoral study.  

Students choose between a thesis or field practicum capstone that best suits their needs and interests and may complete the program fully online with a combination of asynchronous courses and synchronous HyFlex options with on-campus components if desired.

Program Objectives

Students in the Health Psychology program will

  1. Integrate the biopsychosocial model and evidence-based practices to assess, design, and evaluate health behavior interventions across diverse populations.
  2. Demonstrate ethical, culturally responsive, and systems-informed practice in health psychology settings.
  3. Conduct, interpret, and apply research to inform psychological practice in health-related contexts
